there're 2 or up to 3 versions of AMD Athlon Processors ("Palomino", "Thoroughbred A", "Thoroughbred B"), for this model 2200+ there're only the last two but my motherboard is only compatible with "Thoroughbred A", could anybody confirm wich type is this ? thanks...
check http://www.overclockers.com/tips00173/ for tips on "how to tell them apart"...

i found the chipset very easy to install in my new elitegroup motherboard.i would reccomend this chip to anyone who is looking for a very easy installation.i have had the chip in my computer for about 6 months with no problems.i have not attempted to over clock it; i heard that they aren't as easy as others. all in all it is a very good product and i look foreward to what AMD has to offer.

AMD makes a bunch of processors. Some are better than others. This one is affordable, but don't plan on doing much overclocking with this one! I got one up to 1917MHz before toasting it and my board too.
My Athlon XP 2400+ does much better. Do your homework if you are planning on building a system. AMD revised the Thoroughbred chip design and added some layers to them. Get the next version, it's a better chip.
