I use a athlon xp on an old soyo motherboard with sata 150 to host windows home server- works like a charm, cost close to zero depending on the amount of castoff computer parts you have floating around your place or your mates. now I am at peace even if my main drive on my pc crashes as I can recover all including the install os drive from the home server backup.
