the chip being shipped is actually a 5000B not a 5000+
I have an older HP and my mother board can support up to a 5000+
This 5000B would not work.
Stat for Stat and performance wise the 5000B and the 5000+ are the same thing.
But as far as working in my machine, not so much.
Just to prove myself right, I went to CompUSA and bought an off the shelf 5000+ and plugged it into the same motherboard and it worked.
In the end, I bought a newer motherboard to support this 5000B chip and the chip does work just fine.
BUT NOT IF YOUR MOTHERBOARD MAXES OUT AT 5000+
