"Couldnt Be Hap Hap Happier" 2010-01-07

recently i built a ... my first PC and read reviews on everything. My choice for CPU was an intel core 2 Quad Q9550, I use the whole name because it deserves the respect of full billing.Great product anyway reviews said dont use the fan that comes with it and i took notice and after looking and reading reviews i settled on the Zalman CNPS9700NT copper heat pipe cpu cooler.Man this is a great fan, read reviews about temps like 39 40 45 c........ i dont know what there talking about, lol My CPU at idle runs 19 to 20c.System 30c ...... Thats crazy cool and all i have is an Evidia 334 Elite Midcase with 2 120mm fans front and back.Add to that ocz DDr2 800MHz heatsingk memory.I overclock form 2.83 to 3.4 while playing games for hours and Temps are no greater than 27c on my CPU and 37c system temps. when the fan came it said fan cappable of running on core 2 duo and similar CPUs so even thoe it was running cool i wanted to use the right fan right? I didnt know newB i guess.Anyway put the fan on that came with my Q9550 and it was a horrible fan.Reviews were right noisy and inadequate.so called Zalman and they said it was the right one just packaging misshap.Well it fit my CPU perfectly and i should have known but im glad i didnt have to send this beauty of a fan back. Its Quiet at high speeds and The green light fits well with my Nvidia case witch is why i went with it.For me im going with Zalman fans.Oh ya, and at 150,000 hours runnig time and 49.99 that i paid,I did good really good i think.Reviews like this one helped me hope it helps you.

"Great Cooler that Looks Great" 2009-11-23
By M. Bryan (Beaumont, TX)
I installed this cooler on a Phenom II 720BE and temps fell from 38 degrees celsius at idle to 30, and from 45 degrees at load to 36. I was using a stock AMD heatpipe cooler before and the Zalman 9700NT blew it away in performance. I love the nickel plated copper though the green LED fan does not match the blue lighted theme of my computer case, the green does blend well enough not to be a distraction. Only complaint though is when the fan spins up over 2,000 R.P.M. it is audible (I expected it to be quieter) but, it is not as loud as some other coolers I have heard and the performance more than makes up for it. I had no trouble with the installation but was a little more difficult to install than the stock cooler. Also love the included thermal paste, it works as well as my usual arctic 5 silver and easier to apply due to the bottle and brush versus the syringe that you have to get a card and spread over the CPU. I chose this version of the cooler over the 9700 LED with the copper color and blue LED fan due to the fan on this one being a PWM model which means the speed of the fan is controlled by the motherboard and I don't have to mess with a manual fan control box. Great performance with good looks and fast shipping from Amazon all makes this Zalman cooler a winner!

 "Great CPU Cooler" 2009-05-20
By Vedran Simic (Texas)
Pros: Just bought this Heatsink looking to improve my CPU Temperature and did it ever. I Went from Stock Idle around 27-30 Celsius to 13-15 Celsius. The Fan is a little bit BIG so you have to have either a Mid-Size Tower or Larger to fit it. I currently have the CoolerMaster CM690 and it fits just fine in it. The Cooler itself is Accompanied by Green LED Lights and Recommended By Nvidia. It also has Automatic Variable Speed Control, so the Motherboard will take care of Controlling the Fan Speed. It is Designed for both the AMD Chipset (Socket 754, 939, 940, AM2+) and the Intel Chip Set (Socket 775 only) with all the necessary hardware to put it on

Cons: It's Big. Fins are Sharp. The AMD Bracket is a Pain in the Rear to put on, but once you do, it will hold it Nicely on the Motherboard Clamps.

Other Thoughts: Quality Product again made by Zalman. Cannot go Wrong with them!
