"Solid Performer for it's Price, but noisy fan" 2009-12-24
By Byong J. Jun
This is someone who has moved from a P4 to a Core 2 Quad. I didn't expect much from this product, but it handled Windows 7 extremely well without any lags. The speed is excellent, but the noise from the fan is extremely noticeable. Even on Silent mode the fan is whizzing extremely loud noises. So if you are buying this product, I recommend you buy a case fan and a reliable CPU fan. For its price, the Core 2 Quad Q9550 is a solid performer that budget-tight desktop buyers should get.

 "Blazing Fast!" 2009-12-23
By W. Barnes (NYC)
I usually buy all of my PC hardware from the EGG, but i caught this CPU here for a significant discount over what they charged, The performance to price ratio is outstanding and the Chip arrived Brand new in Retail box as advertised it also arrived a day early. I did not use the stock cooler because i refuse to ever try those pushpin fan's on any enthusiast motherboard i purchase, but from reviews i have read it isn't even worth the risk of damaging your board trying to push in and lock the thing.i Have not overclocked the chip & probably won't (No need for this build) oh and i did get the EO stepping model for those interested.

"Waste of Money for Gamers Little performance gain from Core 2 Duo E6600" 2009-12-20
By Brice E. Gause (King, North Carolina)
I up graded to this from an E6600 Core 2 Duo. I pretty much wasted my money, no noticable gain of performance in games. I ran a bench mark (3D Mark Vantage) with the E6600 I got 9000+ with the Q9550 I got 10800 so if you think its worth it, rock on. Don't be fooled by the 12mb cache (6mb x2 L2 cache). Lots of folks upgrade to the Core i7's They maybe much beter Idont know. I'm going to run what I got till the wheels fall off if so to speak. I'm currently selling a combo set-up, type in: eVGA 680i SLI with my old E6600 4GB Memory and XP Media Center Edition (32bit) Vista H P (64bit) Must seeeVGA nForce 680i SLI Motherboard 122-CK-NF68-A1 I would keep this but I need the Cash. It's A Great Deal I have two 680i Mobo, The eVGA 680i will not support the Q9550 and my Abit IN9 32X MAX does so Im selling this at a deal!! With the OEM OS's

 "The Four Headed BEAST!!" 2009-11-24
By A. Quintero (PA United States)
This chip is FAST! I upgraded from an AMD 3.2GHz X2 Black Edition proc and this one blows it away. All my games run way faster than runing them with the AMD chip. I was going to buy the Intel Q9650 proc but it didn't seem to be worth the extra $100+ for the added 170MHz that it gives you. I am glad I saved my cabbage since I don't think that there would have been a big difference from this proc to the 3.0 GHz Q9650. I recommend this chip for the performance and rock solid stability!!
